The Chevrolet Corvette was the brain child of Zora Arkus Duntov. Duntov was born in Belgium on Christmas day 1909. Duntov was a brilliant engineer who moved from Germany to New York, and went to work for Fairchild Aviation.
In 1953 Duvtov attended the Motorama the a Waldorf-Astoria hotel in New York City, the Chevrolet Corvette had captured the attention of the show. Duntoz was so taken by this car that he wrote a letter to Ed Cole the Chevrolet Chief Engineer to compliment him on a job well done.
