I wonder how many people remember the ancient days of muscle cars. The thing is that the super muscle cars have returned for 2013. And they are awesome, they can rival the muscle cars of yesteryear, and that is hard for me to say.

Of course on sheer power most editors are going to rate the Ford Mustang GT 500 the best of the year. But I rate them on a couple of different things. Of course sheer power is one of the things that I rate them on because it is muscle cars that we are talking about here.

In the history of limited-run American muscle cars, the 1969 ZL1 Camaro holds a special place in the hearts of many enthusiasts. The tale behind the car is nothing small of legend.

The sixties were a golden era for auto manufacturers, and power-dealers ordered models straight from the General Motors factory. One such dealer, Fred Gibb, ran a dealership in La Harpe, Illinois and placed an order for 50 Camaros to be outfitted with the 427cin, all-aluminum, huge-block engine used in the Can Am Chaparral.
